01The problem
Aged inventory tied up cash while new material was ordered for jobs it could have filled. Matching by hand meant comparing detailed chemistry and specs line by line.
02What I built
Hybrid retrieval with Azure AI Search, combining keyword search, vector embeddings, and structured filters
Domain rules turned into code: 15-element chemistry tolerances, safety rejects, and ranked match classes
AI agents on Azure AI Foundry and Azure OpenAI that propose matches, with an independent validator that checks each one against the rules
Integration with Microsoft Graph and SharePoint so results land where the team already works
03The result
Buyers get ranked, explainable matches instead of searching by hand
Every AI suggestion is verified against hard rules before anyone acts on it
